MANAGER WORKSHOPS
Purpose
ISC has designed special workshop-length programs intended for intelligence unit supervisors, as well as for line managers and executives who are clients and users of intelligence services.
The objective of these workshops is to familiarise participants with the processes of intelligence, focusing on how to task, manage and monitor the activity and assess performance.
Content and Conduct
The workshops are conducted as full time (residential or non-residential) events, for two to three days depending upon client requirements.
The focus of the training is centred on the following three elements:
- the intelligence process, role and functions of the analyst
- the intelligence supervisor - including managing the intelligence activity
- the client - including tasking, monitoring and assessing performance of intelligence services
The workshops discuss the concepts and practice of intelligence and provide several opportunities for participants to practise and role-play in the three roles of analyst, supervisor and client.
Workshops may be conducted separately for supervisors or managers or clients. However, mixed groups generally provide better opportunities for more effective understanding of different needs and perspectives.
